Twelve patients with advanced oral cancers were treated with a combination chemotherapy consisting of cisplatin, vincristine, bleomycin before definitive therapy.
There were 7(58%) partial and 2(17%) complete responders, with an overall response rate of 75%.
This regimen was well tolerated in spite of its toxicities as nausea, vomiting, alopecia, fever and nephrotoxicity.
The toxicities were managed symptomatically with antiemetic drugs, hydrocortisone, reduction of doses.
